Out-of-state travelers can find their way to Morro Bay by flying into Los Angeles or San Francisco. The three-and-one-half hour commute to the central coast is a picturesque drive along Highway 1.

If coming from Los Angeles, plan to make a few stops along the way. Santa Barbara is a booming beach town with a rich history and beautiful architecture. The Danish village of Solvang is a top destination in its own right. Plan to spend some time strolling the streets and sampling some delicious food from one of the many small restaurants or bakeries.

The trip from San Francisco is just as lovely. You can stop at Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea for spectacular views and wine tastings.
